Gel manicure set for those who are afraid of nail salons, Covid-19, and are introverts in general.
I’ve been restless lately, and it may have to do with my hair falling out more than usual (for a later post). While I can’t change the hair loss immediately, I can improve the way I think about the situation. I’m trying to eat better while managing my stress levels more (sleep, vitamins, water, and deep breaths people).
For a few months now, I’ve been craving to get my nails done at a manicure place, but I’m terrified of getting nail fungus (it’s real) and Covid exposure. The next best thing? A DIY gel manicure kit. If you don’t have a beauty supply store, they are a bit hard to come by if you’re impatient like me, but some stores such as Rite Aid /Ulta carry them.
I found the Sally Hansen Salon Gel Polish Kit.
I don’t think it’s for everyone, but I’m super excited about the results. I had to wait a week to see if there was significant chipping before reviewing it. Still, as a person obsessed with handwashing and alcohol spritzing (I’m pretty bad at moisturizing, too), I’ve seen fantastic results! Check out my photos, officially a 1-week and two days post manicure.
Price: $59.00 USD
What you get: The three-step gel system comes with alcohol pads, a file, cuticle pusher (wood), the UV light, and acetone to remove the gel if needed.
Any additional colors (like the one I am wearing) range for about $15.00 USD (pretty steep).
What you need: Your credit card, and some patience.
Time: It took me about 15 minutes to do them all, and it was considerably simple. I usually paint my nails on my left hand, then the right, and I leave the thumbs for last since those are the ones I use to clean up with.
Show me yours if you buy it, please :)!!
